The Universe Speeding Up?

I just had another brain fart. Some scientist say the universe is speeding up because of dark matter. I dispute that. Forget this 'dark matter' stuff. It's something they made up so their formulas achieve the outcome they're hoping for. Here's what I was thinking...

This phenomena can be explained by thinking in terms of time or it's relativity if you will. Einstein's views have been an accepted as fact for some time. The view being if we here on Earth observed astronauts on a space ship approaching the speed of light there actions would appear to slow down. On the other hand if the speed of these astronauts were reduced their actions would appear to speeding up as they came closer and closer aligned with ours. Could it just be these countless other galaxies are actually slowing in speed thus making their actions appear to be increasing when in fact the opposite is occurring?

My second brain fart. What about space travel? Well distance seems to be the major hurdle. Distance in space is measured by the time it takes for light to reach us. By observing the shift in light's frequency (and accounting for it) we come up with an estimate. For light itself it appears as though practically no time has passed. Meaning distances become almost meaningless. However as an observer in our localized time zone it would appeared to have traveled millions of years before it arrived here. So the problem isn't distance but rather time itself. There are two things which affect time. Mass and that which is the speed we may travel. The greater in each will slow time'. Since neither of those two seem practical for physical travel let us consider a third option.

Today we're experimenting with quantum physics to store information Once we figure out how to harness quantum information one can only imagine the possibilities. This is significant because quantum physics has proven it can be in several places at the same time. Only when it is observed do the others seem to disappear. In other words time (thus distance) becomes meaningless. Yes it would be nice to physically travel through space but being able to communicate instantly with everyone who might possibly be out there would be amazing.

Let me take this to something that may sound even crazier. Since all matter is made up of energy and all energy's source is made up at the quantum level.. just suppose our physical being is nothing more then an accumulation of quantum information. If this is so what happens when we shed our physical being? Could it be this information still exists? If so is this the highly speculative life we believe may follow after we leave this flesh?

I realize I may sound crazy to some. I'll tell you what seems even crazier. To not know who or where we were before we came into this world. To look out well beyond 13 billion light years into endless trillions of stars and planets in the night sky. Then disappear from life on this perfectly designed rock for our existence. Now that's some pretty crazy stuff right there if you ask me.
