While I may agree with him on certain points, before he calls for it to be broken up because it's too big he needs to take a look in his own backyard.
MSNBC is owned by 'Comcast'. Comcast is a hellva' lot larger (it could be considered by some in itself a monopoly). HERE'S A HUGE LIST OF IT'S HOLDINGS. Among it's holdings is 'NBC Universal'. AMONG IT'S HOLDINGS include not only Universal film studios but six cable channels, several theme parks and the streaming service called 'Peacock' and another called 'Vudu' it bought shares into from Walmart. As well as expanding it's tentacles into Europe.
Granted Mark Zuckerberg, who owns 29.3% of Facebook (including Instagram) has greater control then any other single person over at 'Comcast'. This still doesn't mean he exerts near the influence 'Comcast' has over what people see and hear. Facebook's influence comes from the people who use it. Therein lies the problem. Who gets to control what people are exposed to?
I don't think the problem lies solely at the feet of Facebook as Joe would have you believe. According to Wikipedia Fox Corperation, is owned by the Murdoch family via a family trust with 39% interest.. Another behemoth able to influence people. They along with dozens of other social media sites and media companies who also had a hand in stirring the pot.
What I'm trying to say here is Facebook alone is not the boogieman. There's plenty of others to blame for getting people fired up. Thank some congressional members, other politicals and even Joe himself at times.
At this time it appears Twitter and Facebook are starting to suppress this by suspending numerous accounts or putting them in lockdown for a period of time till they meet guidelines. Maybe some of these other major media companies ought to try suspending some of their own for the crap they're putting out. Much of the very stuff ending up being posted on social media.
Seems to me some of this complaining is because the traditional big money players are now losing a bunch of ad revenue after these other players came along. It also seems to me if places like Twitter and Facebook wish to benefit themselves they should disallow all political commentary completely. There are plenty of other positive things going on in each.
Too bad things seemed to have gotten out of hand. As I see it the greater fault are the American people themselves rather then the design for which these services were intended to be used for. People have abused the privilege. These are the ones that should be punished by eliminating them from using these platforms. How we go about that is the challenge.
No ones suppressing peoples speech by kicking them off. They simply need to exercise their free speech somewhere else. The first amendment applies to government allowing the expression of free speech. No where does it say companies are forced to put up with it.
Don't like it go somewhere it will be more appreciated. Maybe like middle of the desert, a lake or the woods somewhere.
The bad actors MUST be punished. Anything less would send a bad signal to future extremists who'd be emboldened by the lack of response thinking there would no consequences for their treachery.

"Wednesday’s report from the City Controller’s Office determined there was a “lack of leadership at the highest levels” during last summer’s protests..."
Just what the hell is going on down there. Half the city screamed she left vandals and looters run roughshod over stores downtown by not sending enough police. A few weeks later screaming too many police where rough on protesters. What the hell? She's screwed either way.
Ever think what the real problem is? It ain't her committing several murders a week. It ain't her smashing stores and blocking the Vine Street Expressway on their way to block the Schuylkill Expressway. I'll tell you what the real problem is. It's these aholes. Why anyone would want to be police chief in that city is beyond me. They should be grateful to have her.
I'll tell what I would do if her. Call these jackasses into the office next time and let them handle it since they're so great at playing armchair quarterbacks. What a bunch of fools. She will never be able to make them happy.

I'll admit I know next to nothing about trading stock, but I do know this. (1) Someone always makes out at the expense of another. (2) Flash trading occurs within milliseconds based on algorithms usually before these brokers process client's orders (stock manipulation). (3) Most savings plans are FDIC insured so even if your only getting .75% interest you'll never lose your money. Plus there's this...
"Robinhood Markets and Interactive Brokers joined a growing group of firms restricting trading of stocks that have run up rapidly the last week. "
The short story is hedge fund mangers' investors were getting hammered because they bet against GameStop and AMC. Instead a bunch of people got together on social media and bought a bunch of stock artificially driving up their share prices causing professional hedge fund money men to take a shellacking. As people should know by now when you gamble (even on the stock market) the odds are stacked in favor of the house winning. Now we can't have that can we?
This is unacceptable.
We now need to know more about @RobinhoodApp’s decision to block retail investors from purchasing stock while hedge funds are freely able to trade the stock as they see fit.

I'm certain very few have taken the time to watch these over the first week Biden's been in office. I have watched a few and been taken back by those we've experienced over the previous four years. The degree of professionalism and intelligence is like the difference between night and day. There's much more I could say but will save them for comments if anyone expresses further interest.

This does not surprise me in the least. This is why many Senators don’t want the impeachment trial to go on or for it to go quickly. The more time passes, the more people are implicated. https://t.co/7J4p8VeDpv

Just a reminder that Hillary Clinton was a private citizen when they held Benghazi hearings. Save the “he’s a private citizen” bullshit. 4 died in Benghazi, 5 died in D.C. Hillary didn’t tell Islamic militants to attack but Trump told insurrectionist to.
This is only some of the stuff I came across today.

"The high court also ordered the lower court rulings thrown out as well and directed appeals courts in New York and Richmond, Virginia, to dismiss the suits as moot now that Trump is no longer in office."
So in other words there is no reason a "president" can't profit greatly while he/she holds office if they weren't held accountable while in office by stalling them in the appeals process. Course on the other hand the emoluments clause carries practically no penalty. Pardon me for not thinking this is how this is suppose to work.
Does this only apply to presidents or does it to congressional (federal/state) members, governors, county leaders and mayors as well if they get away with it while in office?
Seems screwed up to me. What a country!

"Large demonstrations in support of Alexei Navalny, the prominent Kremlin-critic who was jailed last week upon returning to Russia for the first time since he was poisoned in an August assassination plot, erupted across the country on Saturday, with police quickly turning violent against protesters demanding Navalny’s release."
This video shows police in Moscow detaining Lyubov Sobol, a lawyer and one of Navalny's allies who plans to run for Parliament this year. https://t.co/M1i9UjiOXN
Course it didn't help when Navalny exposed what is purported to be Putin's palace.
Looks like Russia is going through what could be another revolution. They seem to go through this problem every so many years. Wonder if it will be better for us and others in the world or not.

Critics are complaining supposedly the press is coddling Biden in the briefing room. Maybe it's because Sean Spicer came out swinging on his first briefing January 21, 2017 taking no questions. Not exactly the way to endear yourselves with the press.
By trashing the press is about the worst way to start out any administration from the get go. He basically declared himself an adversary to the press. If he wanted the press to go easy on the new administration Sean sure had a funny way of showing it. For the next four years it only got worse from there. With each press secretary after press secretary each gotten more acrimonious then the previous.
Some say the aura of inside the briefing room is far different now. It sure is. It's called respect and professionalism. This starts with how the press secretary addresses the media from the podium. Whether things stay that way is a question, but Biden's surely didn't start right out of the shoot denigrating and provoking reporters.

If it exist heaven must be something like this. A place where all have forgotten their differences and come together in harmony. Maybe.. just maybe from time to time the heavens gift earth allowing us a brief peek into what is possible the only way it knows how. Through music. The only form of expression which requires us to give up our many differences for that of greater harmony.
It's my hope we all pay more attention to music then the constant voices of chaotic chatter which all too many times fill our day.

You might say they were just several years too early reporting on the presidency. I imagine this is what we'll have to look forward to shortly again. They already reached back into their archives and started with the immigration caravans bullshit. Jeesh. At least try and be a little more creative. It's one thing to present alternate facts. Another reporting from entirely different universe.

In short, each individual has been chosen for embodying the American spirit of daring and defiance, excellence and adventure, courage and confidence, loyalty and love. Astounding the world by the sheer power of their example, each one of them has contributed indispensably to America’s noble history, the best chapters of which are still to come.

Welcome to Brexit: Some British travelers were shocked to have their food confiscated when crossing into the Netherlands. ‘This is the new reality,’ a Dutch military police spokesman said. ‘Not everyone seems to have realized what Brexit actually means.’ pic.twitter.com/czROYDVwHj
I don't think a lot of Brits thought this out fully. I've been reading what it means to those who hold bank accounts in neighboring countries. Driver licenses may no longer be recognized when they cross the British border (a special problem for transport drivers).. Passports/visas may now be required. French fishing trawlers are being chased out of the English channel by Britain's military ships where they've always fished before. Cargo trucks are now inspected for new tariffs' on items. The British pound is no longer being accepted for purchases in other European nations. I assume the Euro will no longer be accepted inside Britain as well on purchased items. Drugs and food items will have to meet separate standards then they held in common as before. The NHS may no longer cover medical expenses for Brits when they travel outside the country. New trade agreements will have to be drawn up with the United States now that Britain is no longer part of the European Union. There are particular issues in Ireland. While it has it's own government Brits still control the Northern part. Meaning parts of Ireland are still in the European Union while the northern end is not.
These and probably dozens more I haven't run across.
A case of "be careful what you wish for".

I don't agree with everything she said but why after years of allowing this crap to continue do it now? I think the answer is obvious. They're attempting to distance themselves after the wind has shifted having profited from it prior. Much like many of Trump's friends are trying to distance themselves now.
Ever hear of a guy named Judas?
Let's just call this what it is, 'The Judas Effect'. People (or companies) seek to cover their asses looking to preserve themselves whenever conditions turn unfavorable for them. Time and again it has worked successfully for both politicians and businesses to apologize by locking the doors after being warned the horses would get out. Course this doesn't repair the damage already done.
Sort of along the lines of a judge telling jury members to disregard a shrewd lawyer's previous remark. Yeah like that's going to happen.
Face it these guys are no dummies but they're hoping you are.
