Even though I've listed the Bethlehem Police blog (to the right) I've never mentioned the great transparency this police department provides. Every few days they issue their police reports online. When I use to work in radio I had to physically go down to the various police departments requesting the handwritten reports from the desk sergeant. Then select which ones to report on.

What a great opportunity now exists for anyone wishing to look over Bethlehem's police reports. Citizens now have (and have had for sometime) the opportunity to do so online. The Bethlehem Police Department should be commended for doing so.

While Allentown and Easton both maintain 'Twitter' accounts neither of them list their police reports.

Both they and other police departments need to get onboard with this. 'Wordpress ' & 'Blogger' both offer free resources so there's little excuse for others not to do them as well. The same would apply with video recording council and board meetings and posting them free to YouTube as well.
