Quick Look At The News (07/14/2015)

Tough times for those living in Puerto Rico:
There's a horrible drought there. -- "For 160,000 residents and businesses on the island, water is turned off for 48 hours and then back on for 24 hours... Another 185,000 are going without water in 24-hour cycles, and 10,000 are on a 12-hour rationing plan."

Water aside, Puerto Rico is drowning in debt
It's been reported people are leaving there in record numbers for the United States. I'm not going to get into a long diatribe here other then to say it's a damn shame how we and other nations treat these Caribbean nations like they are some sort of playground. If anyone wishes to discuss why I said this I will happy to oblige.

Speaking of foreign policy
How about that Donald Trunp. He'd make one hell of a foreign nation relations president. He thinks it's a great idea to bomb a couple of nations' oil fields in the middle east to cut off funding for ISIS. Problem is a lot of that oil has been bought and paid for by Russia, China and a few other nations. Nations whom I'm sure wouldn't take too kindly towards the United States for it. Payback can be a bitch. He does realize if he got elected to be President no one appointed him ruler of the world?

Then there's his war with Mexico. He stated at a recent campaign rally maybe we should have bombed Mexico instead of Iraq. He also wants to spend whatever money it takes to build the great wall of China on our southern border then send the bill to Mexico forcing them to pay for it. He fusses over one illegal Mexican immigrant who shot & killed a woman. Meanwhile by my count there's been over 75 killings since. Non of which were committed by a single illegal immigrant.

The Whitehouse Announced A Nuclear deal With Iran
The The Whitehouse had this to say, "Iran has a uranium stockpile to create 8 to ten nuclear bombs. But thanks to this nuclear deal, Iran must reduce its stockpile of uranium by 98%, and will keep its level of uranium enrichment at 3.67% -- significantly below the enrichment level needed to create a bomb." I'm not going into all the specifics. You can check them out for yourself with the link I provided. Of course the Republican led congress is against this. Surprise.. Surprise! What haven't they opposed this President on?

I think there's two simple alternatives. (1) This deal. (2) No deal. Which means Iran gets to continue whatever it's doing.

Embargo... schmargo. There's always somebody who will work with Iran no matter what we do. Take for example, Putin's offer in April to sell anti-aircraft missiles to Iran. In addition "Russia has provided Iran with expert assistance in the construction of its existing nuclear facilities, and last month [May 2015] signed a deal to build as many as eight more." We all know how Putin likes to screw with us. He's not the only one.

You'd think Israel would be onboard, of course they are aren't (no surprise there either). Why I'm not certain. In the past Israel bombed Iranian nuclear facilities. Without this deal and with Russia potentially supplying anti-aircraft weapons it would be a game changer. Israel certainly wouldn't be in the same position to do what they did a second time. The way I see it the long and short of it is... if the world continues to create a economic desperation in Iran.. Iran will do what desperate people always do.. fight back. The United States would too if forced into a corner.. who wouldn't?

Finally There Is This News Out Of Coatesville, Pa.
This concerns the bad water deal they made-- "Nearly 40 percent of the people living in Coatesville are too young or old to work, and unemployment is high... By all practical measures, Coatesville is 2 square miles of ghetto. Yet more than a dozen residents told Al Jazeera that, despite low use, they spend more than $100 each month for water."

Is this the fate citizens of Allentown will suffer 5-10 or 20 years down the road?

If there's one thing worse then a drought, it's knowing there's water available but not having access to it because of one being unable to afford the bills and end up getting it shutoff. We can all find some alternate to food, but water is the most basic substance of life. No one can go a day without water. A government entity that can't provide the most basic essential to life (water) deserves neither respect nor it's very right to exist in my opinion.
