Regarding the first headline. This is not a great way of making friends. There will come a day there will a price to pay for these shenanigans. Allentown can't keep thumbing it's nose at neighbors and expect a good outcome. This is the kind of behavior I might expect from some non capitalist dictator in some foreign country. We are suppose to believe in free market driven businesses. Not manipulated by those with special interests who are well connected to government officials. It brings into question why any developer would invest their money in the Lehigh Valley knowing the risks & circumstances of those who have taken the initiative and how it turned out for them.
As far as the Fleck blowing town without explanation it speaks volumes. Honest men hide nothing.
This is not the way Allentown operated in the days of Max Hess, the Leh, Zollinger's families and others who took their own risks and made the city what it once was.
I feel no pride nor victory in what's happening in downtown Allentown by 'gaming the system'.
For what it's worth as a lifelong resident I feel ashamed and inclined to apologize to those who've been wronged in so many ways.
