Mandela's Funeral- Obama Shakes Hand Of Raúl Castro

Here's what your likely to hear about on Rush Limbaugh's radio program and see on Sean Hannity at FOX News... USA Today-- "President Obama shook hands with Cuban President Raúl Castro during the service at which both spoke."

Here's what your less likely to hear or see from either of them... New York Post-- "In contrast to the wild applause given to Obama, South African President Jacob Zuma was booed."

(It really galls those two when Obama get's cheers)

A quick quiz for those critical of the handshake
1. Which of the two are less patriotic?(a) The President merely shaking the hand of Cuba's communist leader. (b) U.S. corporations investing wads of money enriching the economy of a much larger communist nation.2. Which nation poses more a threat to human rights?(a) Cuba (b) China 3. Which nation could be a greater threat to the U.S. Militarily?(a) Cuba with it's 11.27 million people. (b) China with it's 1.351 billion people with a 4.585 million member military and 'the bomb'.Those critical of Obama's handshake I suspect would rather the President ignore Cuba since it has nothing we want and poses no threat anyway. What a lousy way for the rest of the world to gauge the United States' criteria on how it regards others.

What kind of nation do these critics want the U.S. to be? One that only recognizes other nations so long as we can exploit them? One that only recognizes other nations that can arm themselves enough to be a threat to us?

People who criticize the hand shake, based on such a criteria, demonstrate how they really feel towards others. At one time or another we all came across someone who said they were our friend only because it benefited themselves. Any such individual, group of people or a nation is nobody's friend.

Yes indeed this handshake was a big deal. Not for the reasons those disparaging of the President for doing so would have you believe.
