So many people have complained about robocalls the FTC has decided to ask for help. They've received an overwhelming number complaints and so far the robocallers have been able to circumvent every attempt to stop them.
Even if your on the do not call list, they still call. If you use call block, they use hundreds of other numbers and change caller ID's at will. Some folks said if you push certain key combinations it will foil their servers. DON'T DO IT! If you do this it will be acknowledging their call got through. As a result you're likely to get even more of them. The only thing anyone can do is at this point is hang up.
FTC/Robocalls
In an effort to try and destroy this plague upon humanity the FTC his holding a contest and awarding $50,000 & a trip to Washington, D.C. to any individual who can figure out a solution. The contest starts at 5:00pm EDT on October 25th, 2012. They will take submissions until January 17, 2013- 5:00pm EST. Judging will take place January 17 at 5:00pm EST until March 31 at 5:00pm EDT. Winners will be announced April 15 at 2:00pm EDT.
