Planned Obsolescence Generates Tons Of Toxic E-Waste

Somebody please explain to me why my six year old $624 printer is a throwaway?

The red and yellow 'print heads' are printing spotty despite repeated cleaning soakings. Other then that my printer/scanner/copier/fax machine works just fine.

First the manufacturer provided no updated drivers for my Windows 7 operating system. Now they want to charge me $40 apiece to replace those heads. Assuming the others are not soon far behind, it would cost me $160 to replace them all.

Keep in mind these are not the ink cartridges which cost an additional $61.98 + shipping for both one color cart and one black ink cartridge!

So what we're saying is they want me to spend for an unsupported printer over $220 to keep it up and running!

AND YET

A whole new Windows 7 supported all-in-one with (free shipping) would be $79.99. And it doesn't use those $40 apiece 'ink jets'.

I just hate to add to the toxic electronic trash accumulating throughout the worldVIDEOS
E- Waste In Ghana
E-waste in Pakistan
E-waste in Africa
E-waste in China (Each year, up to 50 millions tons of electronic waste is exported to China alone.)
Here's about 100 more videos on this
Many tons of e-waste could be eliminated if manufactures would continue product support for many of our perfectly fine electronic components beyond a few years instead of "Planned Obsolescence"!

How many cell phones were you forced to throw away?
