Gerhard Salomon- Trolley Enthusiast

Gerhard Salomon passed away December 18, 2007.

The family's roots run deep and rich in Allentown's past. The history of the Salomon family goes back to Gerhard Salomon. Gerhard was one of the orginal business partners who began the jewelery store.

Gerhard also was the one that left a lasting legacy via the films he took of Allentown's trolleys of yesteryear.

He also was also an avid volunteer at the Rockhill Trolley Museum, in Rockhill Furnace, Pa. where DVD's can be bought to help fund this historical account of Allentown's glory days.

My wife's grandfather used to drive one of these trolleys. We have a handmade lamp made from one of the trolley's green swirled glass before it was scrapped.

Also a trolley's lighted side lamp sitting on our fireplace mantel.
