The latest headline to tick me off...
NY Times: Pensions for Lifeguards? Atlantic City Can’t Afford Them Anymore
This isn't about overly greedy workers or union demand. Nor about corporations nor taxpayers being on the hook. Whether it be government workers or those in the private sector, both are getting screwed big time.
TRUST-- Promises Were Made, Promises Were Broken
Almost all of us will live to see retirement age. These days there's no way trust should be given to anyone's promises towards those when they become of age. No matter how well people make retirement plans, when it comes to factoring in future pension promises, they might as well of invested in land on Mars. Forget about 401k's dependency on wall street's market performances on it as well.
There's only one reliable program everyone should be in .. Social Security. If it too can't be trusted in legislators doing right by it, there should be no wonder why today's younger workers are outraged.. They should be.
