I have several thoughts on this
First is he will probably lose in court. The other is when it comes to pensions the way most of us understand pensions, they are earned not given away. Whatever you think of the guy the question is, should he be stripped of his earned entitlements no matter how heinous his acts were? Indeed, does one have anything to do with the other?
From a prosecutorial perspective I could understand why they'd be against this. In court it's usually who has the most money to play with that wins. Which also explains why Sandusky's pursuing this.
For me the whole thing comes down to this. If I or anyone works somewhere for 'x' number of years and was promised 'x' number of dollars I think no matter what, they should get that money (although that's not what current Pennsylvania law is). In this particular case I would award Sandusky his pension. for a couple reasons in the name of justice for all involved. If people are truly looking for justice I favor giving Sandusky what I feel is his due as well victims. Either way Sandusky will likely end up broke. If Sandusky is denied his pension, then the university winds up with is stash. In other words the victims get short changed. Thus I feel true justice wasn't served.
It is for this reason I feel anyone who sympathizes for his victims should be in favor of Sandusky being awarded his pension.
