Great Time To Be A Divorce Lawyer

Being a divorce lawyers these days is like...

'Moby Dick' running into a large school of fish...

"A marriage between a man and woman that was valid when it was entered into does not automatically become void when one of the parties has his or her birth certificate amended to indicate a change of gender,” the appellate court ruled last month"

My Comments About The Article Above

This brings up a few legal questions...

Is he she now the husband or the wife? If so.. will he she still have to pay alimony?

Will the wife be forced to file for a 'No Fault' Divorce? If so, does this mean the wife is no longer entitled to the same rights as one who would have had grounds for divorce otherwise?

If another couple were to find themselves in this same situation with kids, who pays support?

One things certain, under Indiana law an annulment would not have been possible either. An annulment is only granted ".. upon a showing by a party of one of the following grounds: one spouse is under age or was mentally incompetent to consent; the marriage was obtained by fraud; one spouse is of unsound mind; or one spouse was married in another state with the intent to evade the marriage laws of Indiana.

I'm sure all this will be eventually sorted out. In the meantime the real winners here are the lawyers who stand to make a bundle.

Yes this is really a fantastic time to be a divorce lawyer.

Remember divorce lawyers have alimony and support payments to pay too!

If marriage is grand what is divorce?
Ten grand!
