The Woody Allen Firestorm Controversy

I nor anyone else may never know for sure whether Woody committed the acts of which he's been accused. Like in any domestic case when accusations fly and the public interjects the public gets a lot wrong.

Personally I feel this is something that all parties should have kept to themselves and tried as best they could to put this behind them. Exposing their hatred for Woody to the public will do nothing for them except add fuel to the fire that's already eating away at them. Continuing to discuss this very private matter in public will not do any of them good.. not one of them.

My question is, should one's professional career (receiving awards or making films) be denied because of unproven allegations in one's private life especially given nothing was ever proven? It's a 'he-said, she-said' situation.

The purpose of this post is to focus briefly on the misconceptions going around.

Robert B. Weide did a write-up on 'The Daily Beast' in which he endeavored to clear up many of the public inaccuracies that have been made. He points out Mia & Woody were never married nor lived together ever. Woody never even stayed overnight at Mia's place. 'Soon-Yi Previn' never was never Woody's daughter, adopted daughter nor even a step-daughter to him. Soon Yi (who he's been married to for 16 years now) was of adult age when he picked up with her.

I'm not going to rattle on and on, you can read the piece for yourself. However one of the most significant things he wrote was..."Mia’s allegations of molestation automatically triggered a criminal investigation by the Connecticut State Police, who brought in an investigative team from the Yale-New Haven Hospital, whose six-month long inquiry (which included medical examinations) concluded that Dylan had not been molested... On the stand, Allen’s attorney asked Mia about the second doctor’s findings: “There was no evidence of injury to the anal or vaginal area, is that correct?” Farrow answered, “Yes.”I'm in no way defending Woody nor accusing the Farrows' accountings of what happened. I only wish to point out before anyone goes rushing to judgment, they gather all the facts. Then after learning everything they can, remind themselves nothing about this entire sordid tale will become a statement of fact. It was and will always remain now and forever more only a matter of one's own opinion.

My Finale Thoughts On This Matter
Matthew 7:1-2: "“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." So with that in mind, I'm not too hot on calling this either way. Besides, I wasn't there.
