THE NEW YORK DAILY NEWS REPORTED LAST YEAR - As of Dec. 17, 2020 the MTA has recorded 158 “12-9s,” a transit code used when a person is struck by a train. Of those, 58 were fatal.
This also increases passenger comfort because
stations are able to be heated or cooled.
I'm not certain just how many of these were pushed or fell onto subway tracks, but so far this year I'm reading someone did every few days or so. Seems to me rather then spending millions of dollars upgrading the ticket system, creating new stations and beautifying existing platforms safety should have a higher priority.
It also bothers me how some other countries are starting to leave us in the dust when it comes to these things. These were shots from Singapore's MRT and Hong Kong's MTR.
