Right now she is home alone with our granddaughters because her other half was called into the hospital to do a surgical test procedure even though he was scheduled to be off this week assigned to take patient calls till Monday. Hopefully if he's able to get home later today she will be able to score a test.
OMG!
As I was typing this the hospital called her back and said she is suppose to report to work at the ICU tomorrow as scheduled. No testing required. WTF IS THAT ABOUT!
We could be screwed since the wife and I (both seniors) are the only ones who can care for her twins when her other half has to return fulltime to the hospital next week.. Heaven help us if they become carriers. Some of the worst thoughts are running through our heads right now. We're not in a position to raise our daughter's kids financially or physically. Certainly not in the way our daughter is doing now with their dozens of outside organized activates she provides them. Nor am I likely to survive a severe infection with my age and having COPD. This sucks and that hospital of her's isn't making things any less stressful.
Like Governor Cuomo (NY) said, eventually everyone will know someone who's become sick or will themselves.

Good luck to your family.W.T.F. is going on up there? My-wife's sister-in law is a RN at the Reading Hospital and according to texts the hospital is A.F.U.
ReplyDeleteMy thinking is they'll take her temperature and send her home if it's too high. But that doesn't mean they will test her. You'd think they'd want to know before she goes in.
DeleteMaybe they think she's lying. Who knows/
If you will note the media reports how many employees are sick at which store or business. Never once publishing a single employee at a medical facility. Wonder if they're even being factored in the data reported to the state? Yes I realize they don't want people to panic and not come to a hospital where they know doctors are sick. Yet it is something I wonder about.
UPDATE:
ReplyDeleteNot that anybody gives a shit (excluding Bill) but when the daughter called in sick today there was a different human resources person who answered. She said my daughter absolutely needs to stay home.
She still cannot get a test but is trying to find a work around for that. This is something we need to know about before she goes back later in the week.
Sure would be nice if just a few of my other readers gave a damn what we're going through. That bothers me. I will have more to say about my comment policy going forward on Sunday.
My buddy e-mailed me Monday a.m. that his daughter will be furloughed one week a month at LVHC.
ReplyDeleteThat's Odd
DeleteOurs was assigned two extra 12 hour shifts this week. Still has a low level fever and still can't get tested. We are keeping her kids here until she finds a way to get one.
UPDATE ! M.U.S.C. hospital in Charleston S.C. just announced they are laying off 900 employees. The economic theory of supply and demand seems to have been thrown out the window
ReplyDeleteBill check this out on "Bored Panda"- US Health Care Workers Are Reporting Their Salaries Being Cut Due To Coronavirus
DeleteI Think this explains a lot. There are those 'for-profit' hospitals looking to maintain returns for their investors and managements salaries..
Our healthcare system is a mess.
The Radical Lefties are having a field day with this.'Never Let a Crisis Go To Waste'
DeleteWTF EVEN YOU are now making this kind of statement. There was nothing radical about the information in that link. You disappoint me.
DeleteThanks for helping me make up my mind. It was only because of your prior reasonableness I continued allowing comments.
So everyone of those tweets came from "Radical lefties"? BULLSHIT!
