Donors To Causes Getting Played?

"DailyKos noted that “Plaintiffs in the case had asked [District Court Judge David] Bunning to fine Davis, but they specifically requested that he not jail her. Bunning, though, said fines would not work because others might raise money to pay the penalty on her behalf.”
Kim Davis receives a $80,000 salary.
She cannot be fired because she was elected.
She can only be removed through impeachment proceedings

My Comments About The Article Above
This is just the latest in a succession of cases where questions are raised whether these are schemes to cash out on the publicity.

Major media has generated huge publicity for businesses refusing certain customers supposedly based on their religious beliefs. Neighbors who claimed they were discriminated against and so-called victims of police.

In almost each of these cases these folks appeared repeatedly on cable news channels only to find out later they set up fund raising sites for themselves or somebody for them.

While we can't be certain these were their intentions from the start there's little doubt lawyers and they themselves can eventually turn these into a tidy little sum of money for themselves. Cable news has become somewhat a partner in so too reaping the rating benefits in such shenanigans (if that's what they are).

I'll leave you with one more example. A few weeks ago someone set up a fund raising site to help pay for her sick dog. She requested a couple of thousand dollars. As one commenter pointed out, "wasn't this the same person who gave an interview a few months ago where she claimed to have made six figures a year off her YouTube videos?"

Before someone jumps on the turnip truck by contributing money they should think twice.

Don't Become One Of Them!
