Trump Sure Has A Knack For Generating Anger

Of all the articles I'm reading today by far the greatest number of comments by readers was over this damn obsession Trump has with the NFL. It's taken over the internet, in print and on TV.

Montel Williams served 22 years in the Marine Corps and Navy

Montel's response represents the kind of anger I'm seeing throughout the social and mainstream media. Never in my lifetime have I a seen a president so divisive. And he keeps it up. Today he did another spiel on twitter followed up by a diatribe to reporters this afternoon leaving the Whitehouse. This while Puerto Rico is in a whole heap of trouble.

Several suggested he temporarily lift a shipping ban that prevents shipping vessels not U.S. registered to help deliver supplies. So far he resisting advice. He approved it for Houston and Florida. Why not for Puerto Rico--are they not American looking enough?

Last night Trump went to Manhattan raising an estimated $5 million for a second campaign that won't happen till 3 years from now (if at all). People who attended said he negatively mimicked John McCain and Mitch McConnell. Any real president of character would have addressed a much needed fundraiser for Puerto Rico instead. Why not?

A couple of days ago this president--who filed 6 bankruptcies for his own businesses--in tweets faulted Puerto Rico for owing so much money to wall street. If they were better money managers they'd be doing better like Texas and Florida--he tweeted.

No instead Donald in the last 24 hours focused on warring against McCain and McConnell, NFL Facebook and by executive action reducing immigration to a trickle.

Folks this isn't about politics. He's far beyond that. This is about a man whose only talent lies in his ability to tear things apart creating fierce anger at every level. Sports, political parties, international relations, peoples' careers/reputations, trust in our intelligence and government agencies. You name it--he's taken a swing at it. His next target is the economy. He's proposing over $1 trillion in tax cuts--but is not telling congress how he intends to pay for it.

I'm no longer sure whether "divisive" is the best word I could use to describe him. Maybe more like "bullshitter and chief" or "chief bullshitter" might be more appropriate. During the campaign he said he had a secret plan to defeat ISIS quickly. A great healthcare plan to cover everybody much cheaper. He wanted Hillary locked up for her private emails. Now we find out all those who worked around him were and are doing the same thing. He told us he was the best negotiator in the world having the unique ability to bring everyone onboard. Drain the swamp of politicos. Instead he replaced them with self interested millionaires and billionaires of corporate America. This list goes on and on.

Look, I don't give a fig leaf about Donald Trump's party affiliation or how successful he has become over the years by bluffing. It seems to have served him well. BUT it greatly concerns me when the president of the United States thinks he can solve every situation by bullshitting his way out of it. A president who instigates anger pitting one American against another to advance his own shortcomings and failures. Trump is such a man.

Republicans initially gave us 10 other candidates to choose from. I'm certain most are just as upset this is what they and we ended up with. It's not just the Republican party in trouble--it's all of us. Democrats, Republicans--it doesn't matter. We're all in the same boat because of this guy. Can we at least agree on that?
