The musical is coming to the Lyric Theatre (213 W. 42nd St). The theatre has undergone several name changes over the years. It's the same theatre where "Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark" closed this past January. The wife & I saw two most excellent musicals at this same theatre. "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" in 2005 and "Ragtime" back in 1999.
This upcoming rival of "On The Town" will go into previews beginning at 8:00 PM on Saturday, September 20, 2014 and it's official opening is scheduled for Thursday, October 16th, 2014. It will feature a 30 member cast.
I always recommend people buy tickets while shows are in their previews. (1) Tickets are a lot easier to get on the day you desire. (2) After a show opens you may not be able to get tickets before some of the original cast members leave the show. (3) Sometimes while the show is still in previews the director (along with some of the members of the cast) will come out after the show to solicit feedback and do some Q&A's.
