Express-Times 03/08/2014-- "Allentown Municipal Golf Course restaurant owner wants out of lease".
Well that marriage didn't last long. Frankly I'm not surprised.
Rent on "Noti's Clubhouse" at the Allentown golf course was $45,000 a year. Imagine what it cost the owner for heat, to pay the salaries all after sinking a wad of money into improving the place. Most of the food prices were $7 and under. He'd have had to sell 7,500 hamburgers at $6 a pop just to pay the rent. Specials were about half that price.
At that rate he might have been better off waiting for a space in Allentown's NIZ. Either that or wait for the Campus Shop (across from Muhlenberg College) currently being reconstructed for a little over $44,000 a year. He could also look into the dozens of other leases in this same price range in Allentown.
