This is expected to come up at tonight's city council meeting (07/21/2021)
Why is it I have to learn about this from Philadelphia media reporting on it yesterday?

Allentown cracks down on problematic Amazon trucking terminal near Buck Boyle Park
Amazon is parking empty trailers across the street from Bucky Boyle Park. Neighbors and O'Connell fear if this sticks around, it's only a matter of time before a kid gets hurt.

If you're wondering why the city would allow a business to bring 18-wheelers to park trailers on such narrow streets, they didn't. O'Connell says the property owner is violating city zoning laws. It's unclear if the city has taken legal action against them at this point.

I'm not approving comments about the councilwoman. The issue is do we want 80,000lb trucks going up and down our city streets? Why isn't local media reporting this? Save your trash talk for some place else.
ReplyDeleteHere it is Thursday and no one else picked up the story. I want to give TMC credit for reporting the story no once else did last night. My beef isn't with the dedicated remaining reporters but rather with the owners of TMC itself. They've stripped the cupboards nearly bare making it difficult for the remaining few to provide the coverage I'm sure they would wish they could.
ReplyDeleteWho allowed these trucks to park at Bucky Boyle ? This should be the issue !
