Bunch Of Thoughts On Today's Headlines

Reparations
Absolutely not. None of today's generation were owned by farmers. That ship has sailed. If someone feels they've been dealt an injustice take it up in the courts. This was never an option for their ancestors. Then there is the question of who should get these reparations. What about all the white descendants of those who fought in the confederacy to free slaves? Should they not get a piece of the pie too? More importantly if there's any compensation to be made should it come from former "the confederacy" that no longer exist? After all they're the ones who should be held accountable. Not the current government that evolved after the civil war.

Forgiveness Of Government Loans For College
Who really doesn't believe colleges won't see this as a cash cow and raise tuitions accordingly? Hey if we're gonna "forgive" these kid's loans what about all the suckers who came before them? What about mom and pop who are hurting in retirement after they fulfilled their obligations? Shouldn't they receive a rebate check? What's next comping those 10,000's of people who lost their FHA financed homes during the 2008 subprime lending crash? Life has risks. People should understand the risk before signing these contracts. Can't afford it... don't do it!

Biden Says, "Dreamers Should Be Made Citizens:
That wasn't part of Obama's deal. The deal was they could stay (for now). But still had to get back in line like everybody else waiting to apply for citizenship. Biden is trying to change the goalpost far from the Obama administration's. When it comes to Biden as far as I'm concerned he reached his career high when he became Vice President under Obama. He made a good vice president. As far as becoming president... that's over his ability. He needs to retire.

The Iran Situation
Trump has been chomping at the bit to break Iran for years. Even though his bullying and threats have been tolerated by other nations.. Iran ain't going to be one of them. For one thing China gets most of it's oil from Iran (which is something to factor). The other is Iran considers it (rightly or wrongly) their neighborhood. They resent the U.S. poking around Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and all the other middle east countries in their neck of the woods. Think of it this way. What would the United States do if it were Iran poking around ours. I didn't say whether this is right or wrong, but rather a situation coming from their point of view. Oh and one more elephant in the room worth mentioning... OIL.

The Upcoming Elections
Right now none of them are worth spit to me. As this plays out maybe I'll feel otherwise. It's tough for me to decide who has the screwiest ideas. Trump or the other 24 (and counting).

Here's the qualities in a candidate I'm looking for. #1 the person who can calm this divisiveness down. #2 Restore trust with other nations that we won't break the promises we make and our policies aren't all over the map from one day to the next. #3 Someone who realizes we can't continue to spend 10's of trillions of dollars we don't have knowing there will come a day of reckoning for it. #4 Someone who can restore confidence, speak positively towards our nation's institutions and other people. In other words stand in complete opposite to this president. #5 A person who has the sense of humor and inspirational speech capacity of Ronald Reagan with the capabilities of Franklin Roosevelt.

I really truly don't want to vote in one more election for the lesser of two evils. I've done too many of these.
