Sec. of State Blinken on Afghanistan

foxnews.com
Sec. of State Blinken on Afghanistan:
‘This is not Saigon’
"Secretary of State Antony Blinken declared Sunday that the rapidly deteriorating situation in Afghanistan since the withdrawal of U.S. troops is nothing like the fall of Saigon in 1975."

Sure looks like it to me!

The Afghans never did nor never will change. It's been a cesspool for centuries. Always will be.

We knew going in if they enjoy anything more then fighting among themselves it's when they can unite against a foreign intrusion. Give it a  a few weeks or months and they'll go right back to endlessly killing each and other's tribal members. It's who they are. It's what they do. This should be a mystery to no one.

A Brief history of Afghanistan

The point is Afghanistan isn't actually a country. It's an area of the world where numerous tribes have shifting control over certain geographical areas after warring with their neighbors come each Spring's new battle season.

  1. Everybody with a non -political brain knew this was happening .I thought the U.S. would have a week to evacuate. The greatest breakdown of intelligence since the political hoax that their were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq .Might as well put a Division or two in Pakistan to stop the Jihadist's from getting nukes

    1. Common sense would have said we shouldn't remove troops till we evacuate those we intended to. Common sense should have also told us those so called 300,000 Afghan soldiers would fold like cheap suits the minute they were left on their own. I saw that coming for a long time. Most joined for the paycheck and protection by our soldiers at the bases. Never could be trusted. I saw several videos where a soldier would say he wouldn't turn his back even for a minute while they were around. Our troops never left them on guard duty alone for this reason. What.. the pentagon didn't know this? I'm damn sure they did. Guess they just got tired of putting up with it for almost 20 years and favored leaving as much as the next guy.

    2. Does the Secretary of Defense or the Secretary of State take the fall for this debacle ?
