I watched a bunch of these kinds of videos. What I'm gathering is data indicates half or more that go on a ventilator die. Some doctors are questioning in some cases it might be the wrong thing to do because of two types of outer lung membranes they are seeing. One is a thickening (less elastic) a fair candidate for intubation. While the other patient may have a thin lung wall lining which using a ventilator on them might result in putting them into greater danger then if they didn't use one
These videos imply the lung wall lining seems to be the key difference between what one patient should receive for treatment as opposed to another. Mind you it's only a theory, but some are considering it.
In both a shortage of oxygen is the critical problem. Oxygen levels can range rather safely between 80%-100%. Some Covid patients' levels are as low as 35%-40% this is when normal protocols call for ventilators. This extreme lack of oxygen can result in the thickening of blood. Another problem doctors have had to deal with during this disease.
So until there's a 100% provable drug for the treatment of this disease this is pretty much where we're at.
