Charter Schools Co-opting Our School Students?

Thousands rally in Brooklyn in support of charter schools
By Kevin Fasick, Yoav Gonen and Bob Fredericks | New York Post
"The huge rally featured thousands of teachers, parents and kids, whose bright-red T-shirts read, “I Fight to End Inequality” — a pointed reference to the mayor’s own pledge to battle economic inequality."

My Comments About The Article Above
One needs to ask themselves who sponsored this highly organized event?
Who paid for all them snazzy shirts?
Who paid for all the rented buses which helped transport a number of the18,500 protestors?

The answer can be found HERE in this article @ alternet.org -- "This was a well-funded, professionally orchestrated demonstration of support for privatization." In other words funded by investors who have a stake in charter schools.

Allentown "The Little Apple"
Often times Allentown is compared to New York City by referencing it to "The Big Apple" because we parallel it in many ways. Our own student walkouts here in Allentown was led by a charter school teacher. Another thing we apparently have in common with this event NYC.

It absolutely dumfounds me how gullible these sheeple are. The so called disadvantaged are taking to the streets railing against the economic injustice by the 1%. Are they so blind as they cannot see they're being led around by the nose rings by these very same ones who are exploiting them for their own purposes?

I hesitate to call them stupid, but obviously they've shown just how undereducated they are on this matter. We may all agree you can't fix stupid, but we can somehow find a better solution for improving education. But not if 18,500 kids aren't in school instead shouting alongside their parents acting stupid who may be as uninformed as they. Instead both are parading around in the streets doing the bidding of the wealthy who are playing them for fools.

Let me put this another way. The rich didn't get rich by being stupid. Most (not all) get rich by exploiting the less intelligent and less informed who walk among us. It's human weakness to take advantage of others. It's the responsibility of each and every one of us not to allow this to happen. For these impressionable kids there may be an excuse, but there's absolutely no excuse for parents nor these rich *&#*'s to take advantage in corrupting these children. I have little patience for either.

I'll end this with a quote from the article which could also apply equally to Allentown's situation..."It is true that Eva’s schools get very high test scores, much higher than other charter schools. If she has the secret sauce of success, why not include all children, not just the chosen ones? Maybe she should take charge of all the city’s 1.1 million students and show what she can do.

If she truly wants “equality for all,” let her bring the hedge fund billionaires and her secret sauce to save all the children. No cherry picking. No skimming. No exclusion of children who have cognitive or emotional disabilities. All means all. Why not find out if she means what she says?"
