Did Universe Begin With Big Bang?

Here it goes. Another brain fart of mine.

Hey it's just a theory. We have no evidence of this. In every direction we look there is no huddled mass of stars or energy nor an absence of them as one would expect in any direction. If there were such a thing the question is why can't we see evidence of it. Maybe our galaxy has been blasted so far away it lies beyond any means of seeing evidence of it. In other words the universe may be a hellva lot older then we can comprehend. One could speculate since there's a black hole at the center of our galaxies could we have slipped through it. That still wouldn't answer the question, where would it have come from?

However there could be yet another explanation. In the world of quantum physics time doesn't exist. Therefore it's possible every thing could have occurred simultaneously since all matter and energy is beholden to it.

What's that you say, who then created this quantum stuff? What set it in motion? The best answer I can come up with is the bible verse which says "the eye cannot see itself". So hell even the so-called creator may not even have an answer for itself.

One Of My Favorites, Barry Cuda

We came across this guy on one of our cruises down in Key West. We really enjoyed his performance at 'Sloppy Joes'. A few weeks after we came home, not content to watch him on LIVE Webcam I decided why not order all his CD's. So I gave him a telephone call. The man was as personal as could be. He said send him the loot and he'd send a box full. Which he did. This guy has got to be one of the greatest pianist in the country. Hope you appreciate his talent much as I.

The Universe Speeding Up?

I just had another brain fart. Some scientist say the universe is speeding up because of dark matter. I dispute that. Forget this 'dark matter' stuff. It's something they made up so their formulas achieve the outcome they're hoping for. Here's what I was thinking...

This phenomena can be explained by thinking in terms of time or it's relativity if you will. Einstein's views have been an accepted as fact for some time. The view being if we here on Earth observed astronauts on a space ship approaching the speed of light there actions would appear to slow down. On the other hand if the speed of these astronauts were reduced their actions would appear to speeding up as they came closer and closer aligned with ours. Could it just be these countless other galaxies are actually slowing in speed thus making their actions appear to be increasing when in fact the opposite is occurring?

My second brain fart. What about space travel? Well distance seems to be the major hurdle. Distance in space is measured by the time it takes for light to reach us. By observing the shift in light's frequency (and accounting for it) we come up with an estimate. For light itself it appears as though practically no time has passed. Meaning distances become almost meaningless. However as an observer in our localized time zone it would appeared to have traveled millions of years before it arrived here. So the problem isn't distance but rather time itself. There are two things which affect time. Mass and that which is the speed we may travel. The greater in each will slow time'. Since neither of those two seem practical for physical travel let us consider a third option.

Today we're experimenting with quantum physics to store information Once we figure out how to harness quantum information one can only imagine the possibilities. This is significant because quantum physics has proven it can be in several places at the same time. Only when it is observed do the others seem to disappear. In other words time (thus distance) becomes meaningless. Yes it would be nice to physically travel through space but being able to communicate instantly with everyone who might possibly be out there would be amazing.

Let me take this to something that may sound even crazier. Since all matter is made up of energy and all energy's source is made up at the quantum level.. just suppose our physical being is nothing more then an accumulation of quantum information. If this is so what happens when we shed our physical being? Could it be this information still exists? If so is this the highly speculative life we believe may follow after we leave this flesh?

I realize I may sound crazy to some. I'll tell you what seems even crazier. To not know who or where we were before we came into this world. To look out well beyond 13 billion light years into endless trillions of stars and planets in the night sky. Then disappear from life on this perfectly designed rock for our existence. Now that's some pretty crazy stuff right there if you ask me.

Good News For PPL Customers

PPL News Release
PPL Electric Utilities customers to see additional bump in federal corporate income tax reform savings
Reduction in base distribution increases from 7.81 to 13.14 percent on Jan. 1

"ALLENTOWN, Pa. (Dec. 19, 2019) -- PPL Electric Utilities customers will see additional savings from federal corporate income tax reform in 2020. The company filed a petition with the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission on Nov. 26 proposing the increased reduction in the base distribution portion of customer bills. Customers first started seeing tax reform savings in their bills on July 1, 2018 based on a petition approved by the PUC in June 2018.

The latest filing will return federal corporate income tax reform savings to customers for the period from Jan. 1 – May 31, 2018. As a result, a typical residential customer using 1,000 kilowatt-hours a month will save $6.50 per month on their distribution charges in 2020, up from the current $3.86 savings. A typical small-business customer using 1,000 kWh and 4 kW demand will save $5.18, up from $3.08.

A customer’s total monthly bill is driven by several factors, including the amount of energy used.

The additional savings from the first six months of 2018 will end at the end of 2020. However, corporate income tax reform savings will continue for customers going forward. A new savings percentage will be calculated to start in January 2021.

PPL Electric Utilities provides electric delivery service to more than 1.4 million homes and businesses in Pennsylvania and ranks among the best utility companies in the country for customer service and reliability. PPL Electric Utilities is a major employer in the communities it serves. It is a subsidiary of PPL Corporation (NYSE: PPL). For more information visit www.pplelectric.com.

See, not everything is bad news. Good for PPL doing something positive. They should be commended for it.

Big Changes In 2020 For LVCI

For a few years, especially in 2019, I found myself drawn towards greater negativity then ever before. Unlike years ago politics and other controversial items has led me astray over recent years. In 2020 I intend to focus more on the positive things in life. Music has always brought me the greatest happiness. I've been warned videos are not a good thing to focus on in blogs. Be that as it may I'm not going to hold back embedding them when moved to do so.

Not every post will contain videos but in 2020 I intend to reduce much of the former negativity in my previous posts. Although this blog hasn't reflected it most of my life is taken up with family, learning as much as I can about sciences, history and the unexplained. Expect more of those kind of things

There are enough things to worry about without me adding to them. Besides there are plenty of others who do a better job then I concerning such things.

Everyone's Ephemeral

Why everything's no big dealWhat if I told you the actual percentage of people who will die at some point is 100%?

I suppose that comes as no surprise, but according to this table there about 80 ways to check out. This table seems to imply no one dies from getting old. Great news for those who don't want to die from old age, eh?

With that said, why do some people act like they are special and death will never happen to them? That they are immune in some way. Do they not realize that nearly 8 in 10 people will not make it to 65 and beyond?

Would it not be better to live their lives as if this day could be their last?

If society would adapt this attitude it would go a long way in ending greed, indifference to others and all the other things that short sightedness implies.

There was never a building built. A fortune made. A business established. A government formed. A people conquered in battle nor a human that has not perished.

I think a lot of people need to recognize that today is tomorrows yesterdays. And we all know how much we care about them!
