Need Another Reason To Use A Mail In Ballot?

WHYY
Constraints gone, GOP ramps up effort to monitor voting
"The GOP is recruiting 50,000 monitors, typically party activists and specially appointed volunteers, across 15 battleground states... The Pennsylvania lawsuit seeks to overturn state law that says poll watchers may serve only in the counties where they live. Republicans are asking a judge to allow monitors to be present any place votes are cast, including any locations where absentee or mail ballots are returned."

As far as I'm concerned I don't want a greater number of biased overseers potentially questioning my presence at the poll I also question whether everyone of these over enthusiastic supporters will follow the rules to the letter. They may or may not, but why should I have to deal with them if I don't have to.

Hence both the wife and I have already requested mail in ballots. This will also resolve the problem we may face with the possible combined polling places due to (what is predicted to be) having less volunteers available to serve this year at same number of polling sites as once before.

  1. I agree it is a pain have to get to the polls on one day every four years to elect a president.

    1. Actually we have other state & local elections In-between. Most people seem to ignore them. We showed up for every one of them. But Presidential elections can become quite crowded and time consuming Especially for those who work or have to drag the kids or grandchildren along. Don't be so dismissive.

    2. BTW I assume you saw the 3 and 4 hour voting wait lines during the spring primary in some states Now imagine doubling or tripling those come November.
