* All it took was four or five bad cops to make it miserable as hell for innocent well intended cops trying to do their jobs everywhere else.
* There's not a doubt in my mind minorities are treated differently. There is a black trauma surgeon who left the Lehigh Valley recently who posted on Facebook his experiences. Over the past few of years he's been stopped while driving atleast 10 times questioning why he's driving such an expensive vehicle in his own upscale neighborhood. My stepdaughter's friend whose husband is Hispanic has been stopped two or three times a year and nearly 100% of the time at the airport when they go on trips. How can these people not become resentful?
* Far too many cops are being trained these days to escalate situations unnecessarily by screaming perhaps even shooting first. We need to train them to deescalate situations rather then escalate them. Citizens in foreign countries throughout history feared soldiers as they went about their daily lives. We are becoming all way too much like them.
* Forget about terrorists coming to get us. We are our own worst enemy. If I where to offer advice to our enemies it would be to stand down and wait.. we'll destroy ourselves without their foreign intervention if we don't wise up.
* Pray day and night as you will God himself isn't going to intervene nor some magic genie. Forget about it. No one can kill or lock up all the evil which exists in this world.
Wrapping this up in few words as possible let it be said I'm not too impressed with some of my fellow human beings at the present moment.

A Few Thoughts (07/07/2016)
Allentown's Lehigh Parkway Reopens
Allentown city officials held a ribbon cutting reopening ceremony Wow, maybe we should have one of these for every street reopening after a gas explosion and water pipe sinkhole collapse. I hardly think a celebration be held for things that should have been under constant repair.
Results Of The $1b+ Cost To Taxpayers For Allentown's NIZ
Return On Investment: Has anyone's state or local taxes gone down?
Have neighborhood, schools and family's quality of life improved over what they were 5 years ago?
Allentown Parks & Pools
More presentable and scenic then they were 20 years ago?
Allentown Housing
Is there more home ownership with less transient rental properties available then 10 years ago?
IN A NUTSHELL I believe if people were to confront reality (which I highly doubt they ever will) all these problems could be overcome. Most are too self absorbed or unwilling to make this a better world.
What say you?

My Cat Won't Take His Medicine
I dropped $486 at the vet for our 16 year old cat. She recommended special food that would help his weak kidney function. No matter how we mix his food or try to fool him he ain't having any none of it. What's a person to do?
Looks we're not alone. This lady was told by her vet broccoli would help her cockatoo's ailing health.

Wall Street Tycoons Looking For Suckers?
I'll admit I'm totally 100% naive when it comes to Wall Street investments but in my opinion this looks like a sucker's bet. Keep in mind this is only my opinion and in no way should be construed as investment advice or what I'm about to say is anything other then my opinion.
The New York Post is reporting New Hostess owner plans to take the company public-- "Three years after buying it out of bankruptcy.... Apollo and Metropoulos bought most of the Hostess snack brands out of liquidation for $410 million in 2013 and successfully relaunched products. Last year, they tried to flip the business for $2.3 billion but shelved the sale after failing to get offers." . Instead they now plan to take it public.
Can anyone having working knowledge explain to me why they would take it public and not keep this so called $2.3 business entirely for themselves?

July 4th SOS (Same ole S- - -) Message
Don't drink and drive.
Don't screw with fireworks.
Here's my 4th of July alternate message to dopes everywhere (as long as no one else ends up involved)
Drink and drive.
Screw with fireworks
This is nature's way of eliminating the least intelligent among us.
  All part of God's plan.
Don't screw with fireworks.

Allentown Stuck In Neutral?
If it is it's not because of the mayor or the FBI's ongoing investigation. Voters have reelected this mayor time and again. Same goes with many of it's council and Allentown's school board members. If there's any argument to be made voters are unwilling to make any kind of change. As a result one could say Allentown has been stuck in neutral for years politically speaking because of it's voters or lack thereof.
Allentown citizens rejected candidates like Scott Armstrong, Bill Heydt and Tom Burke to name a few. These were people whose passionate views far differed from those of this current administration.
Though Allentown now has huge multimillion dollar monumental buildings dedicated to business little progress has been made regarding it's social infrastructure. Crime, housing and job opportunities remain the same. None of which has anything to do with the current FBI investigations.
Garbage In. Garbage Out
People may place blame on the FBI, police, community organizers, mayor, council or school directors, but the real source of problems Allentown faces lies in the hands of people. Real change can only come about if people can be made to realize they are what make up this city. Allentown's government, schools and image is a compilation of the people living within. The challenge in Allentown to move beyond it's present state is by involving people finding some way to get rid of those unwilling to participate.
A few ways to do this is by eliminating transient housing (overly cheap rentals), not ignoring the voices of those willing to work for decent wages, listening carefully responding to voices who express legitimate concerns while ignoring those who make a living off of funded tax dollars over some latest greatest BS nonsense in order to enrich themselves.
Back in the days those coming to and settling in Allentown weren't seeking a hand out or a leg up from some government program. They saw themselves as part of a community for the many years that lay ahead both for their families and businesses. Unless we can instill those same values any program or legislative action we take is doomed to fail. If we truly want what's best for all it starts with each and everyone. No more excuses !
