My CommentsEnergy independence is a false doctrine. Some of these proposed pipelines will terminate at coastal refineries. A large portion of the contents targeted for export.

If we truly want to be energy independent make use of alternative energies which can't be exported. Things like wind and solar. No wonder big oil fights against them tooth and nail.

Another thing I find ironic is how some complain about the look of wind turbines or solar panels. Maybe it's just me but I personally find an untold amount of drilling sites and 10,000's miles of flammable potentially toxic pipelines crisscrossing America far less attractive.

I'm not too thrilled with tank cars and trailer trucks loaded with fuel either.
