Why Do Some People Have To Be So Damn Ugly?

Philly TV anchor Nydia Han was nearly hit by a car and told 'This is America.'

I tried to embed her Facebook video but couldn't find a way to do it. Viewers of ABC6 Philadelphia know her quite well. Nydia is of Korean decent born right here in the good ole USA making here 100% American as you or I. She's a very intelligent fair minded professional but even she can become fed up. I urge people to check out her video.

What makes this interesting to me is the differences between responses on her Facebook which were nearly 100% positive as compared to the comments by turds on Philly.com. Here were a few of those (although the positive seem to outweigh the negative).

Why is this news? Some nobody reporter claims that someone was mean to her and it gets attention even though she has no proof it ever happened?

It's a great opportunity for this propaganda site to tell everyone how racist, sexist and xenophobic white men are.

Because she thinks she is special.

Ms. Han, will you speak up against quotas against Asians getting into college because they are Asian or will you keep you mouth shut because the liberal agenda trumps what is right?

These liberal snowflakes are easily offended anymore.... America needs to toughen up a bit. What ever happened to sticks and stones ...

The mainstream media puts a liberal "slant" (no pun intended) on the boring news -- and even non-news like this alleged incident -- in order to boost interest and thus advertising revenue.

Do you have proof that it actually happened? Even if it did, it's not newsworthy except for the fact that this liberal rag gets a chance to bash white people again!!!

Way to go INKY! True to form.- please, go out of business. Of course most of the conversation devolved into partisan bickering.

The point I'm trying to make here is anyone who chooses a career which puts them in the public eye is susceptible of becoming a punching bag. If we the public expect great minds to run this country, become reporters or entertainers fewer and fewer of the talent will choose to do so. Why should they when they can earn a decent living outside public view?

Each day that passes I find myself less tolerant of those who spew their ignorance. I strongly urge media and anyone else who allows such dissemination to end such practice. Everyone has a right to free speech, it's another to allow others to abuse that right to spread their sick hatreds and negativities. In so doing they become an accessory giving amplification to the worst who walk among us. Thus I urge PHILLY.COM to pull comments on this post like they do on others. Same goes with the all so many other sites that allow this kind of BS on various stories. I fail to see how this serves any good purpose.

This amazing video makes them look as trendy to today's music as each were back in their era. Music may change but these pro's prove they could handle anything back then... or now.


I enjoyed watching these old movie dancers over they years. After seeing this I have even greater appreciation of them then before. Gosh they sure had the moves !!

Living In The Age Of The Internet- My Observations

Not often do I wish to engage in comments on various sites. It seems for every one comment two more will challenge whatever I say. Which leads to four more after responding to the first two. All of it becomes rather taxing. Thankfully on this site I don't have to deal with too many of them. I like it that way.

When Hannity tweeted his readers asking them to attack CNN's Jake Tapper a few weeks ago they went after him instead. Speak on any topic. It doesn't matter. Users of the internet just love to piss on someone's parade. People love bickering. It appears there's a basic need in some humans to try and make the other person look stupid. When facts fail them or they begin to lose the competition, engaging like it were a battle of wit, they nearly always resort to name calling. It doesn't matter what someone post, either for or against (nor matter how many facts they present) it will attract dissenters like bees to honey. That's just the way the internet operates.

The other thing I've observed, if the comments threads are left to continue long enough people will stop taking the time to read all of those before. Hell some won't even bother to read beyond the headline before shooting off their mouth. A few weeks ago NPR ran a headline entitled "Get Off The Couch Baby Boomers". All hell broke loose The comments broke down into a war of words between millennials and baby boomers as to which was the laziest. This had nothing to do with written article. It was about the need for older Americans to maintain exercise as they grow older.

Because all too often people act like jerks many of the major news sites, having to deal with hundreds of comments, have eliminated them completely. My attitude towards comments is they can prove useful and informative. However there's so few of these it's like panning for gold. I'm not a fan of sports for much the same reason. I have neither the patience nor the time to spend relentless hours watching one game after the other or analyzing the players.

I'm a bottom-line kind of guy. Just the hard facts pertaining to the subject at hand is all I'm looking for. Not the competition between egos. Especially trolls who post very obvious remarks to do nothing more then get people riled up. They are the biggest jerks of all.


In Summary
The internet has spawned an ability for turds to interject themselves. Much like the static we use to put up with in the old days of AM radio, I try hard to tune them out. How I and others deal with this going forward remains to be seen. I have no problem debating anyone, but when it becomes too cluttered with nonsense for the sake of argument I lose interest real fast.

If the internet is to live up to it's truest potential we all need to refine what we will allow or not allow on our sites. The internet is open to everyone, even turds. If some turd doesn't like it-- feel free to start your own. See how that goes for ya. I nor any one else is under any obligation what-so-ever to host those we find disagreeable.

Neither do I feel the obligation to engage incessantly when I so choose to speak on others when they allow me to. That's the way the internet works. We all have the freedom to choose.

Overall my impression is (from my experience) people who comment on the internet only represent a teeny tiny fraction of those who read what was posted.

Judging by the stats embedded on this site most realize I won't tolerate the kind of BS others put up with. I'm not as tolerant as they. Credit goes to them for putting up with such. I admire them for the ability to accept what I cannot.

Where Presidents Stood On Immigration (Videos)

Our immigration policy has always been all over the place. This is why CONGRESS NEEDS TO ACT. No longer can congress be allowed to kick this can down the road. The burden is now on congress because of it's failure to act in the past. Neither blame or anger should be directed towards Trump nor any of his predecessors. Each have been left to twist in the wind trying to come up with their own policy because of congress's failure to act. Every one of these presidents tried to pressure congress. Each have failed

Executive actions will no longer appease the American people. If there's anger to be had let it be towards those who should be held accountable-- members of congress. They are the ones charged with making laws. Not presidents, the courts or individual states. They can save DACA or make it go away. They can decide how many, who come into this country and the rules they have to play by to get here Congress has the ability to override a president's veto if they feel the need to. The time has come for this congress to act. No more excuses. No more hiding behind the various presidents to stall immigration reform.. Just do it-- do your jobs.

Folks don't let them get away without doing something yet again. Hold congress accountable. Let them know we're watching and we're sick and tired of their inaction. We don't want to go through another 50 or 60 years of allowing this nation to divide itself like we have been from one president to the next. Neither for our sake, our kids nor those who seek citizenship doing all the right things only to be told America doesn't want you. Get lost. What kind of message does this send to the rest of the world? We're too good for them?

This isn't a conservative or liberal thing. Plenty of good people went on to become president. Certain members of congress expressed compassion and frustration from both sides. It's time we back them up and give them and future presidents the support they need by enacting commonsense laws through congressional action. A lot of people are hurting unnecessarily. Time to end this so we can move on to other things.
