Capitalism On Steroids

A bunch are calling for unrestricted capitalism. Some on the other side have an over abundance of socialist ideas. Here's the way I see it. Why can't we have something in between these two extremes. For instance, here's a few ideas... * No CEO or owner at the top being allowed to make more then 100x's their lowest paid employee. For example. The lowest paid receives $30,000 a year. The CEO then would be limited to earn $3,000,000. Perhaps upper level supervision 10x's ($300,000) The immediate supervisors 2x's ($60,000). This would mean if a CEO or owner would want to increase their earnings by whatever amount would have to increase the lowest wages by a proportionate amount. This doesn't mean every employee is limited to $30k. Each can still receive larger salaries for their work responsibilities. It only means no one can receive less then 100th that of it's owner or CEO. I call this fair equitable distribution. No single person (including it's owner/CEO) should be worth more then 100x's then those who also contribute to a company's success.

* I'd also except an alternative in the form of company ownership. Say the company doesn't want to commit it's cash earnings which may not remain steady in the future. Instead decides to issue shares, For example the big boy at the top wants to give themself a 1000 shares so they'll only be taxed on capital gains In this case each lowest paid employee would receive 10 shares each. Perhaps using this as a alternative form of a retirement from the company w/o having to be locked in to the ever increasing employee salaries.

* Another way of helping companies is to eliminate the burden of healthcare costs. I look at this way. I hired a worker to do what needs to be done-- not take care of him/her whole family's medical issues. It's bad enough I have to hire another person to pick up the slack when one of my employees is out sick. It's unfair then I too am burdened with their healthcare costs on top of it. The way I could get workers demands and that of their union's stoppages off my back is not to be saddled with the burden of healthcare in the first place. This is where the government comes in to play a part.

Detractors are always misleading us when it comes to the cost for national healthcare for everyone. For the sake of brevity I will only bring one thing never mentioned. Both companies and individuals deduct billions of dollars every year from their income taxes for medical costs. If we all had medical coverage these deductions would no longer exist. Right there is a ton of money which would go towards government supported plans. Well maybe I should bring up one more talking point. The government can be a hellva lot more powerful negotiating/legislating prices then insurances companies. Competing insurance companies have a greater incentive to simply raise prices rather then litigate till the cows come home.
I could go on but I'm sure many readers didn't bother reading this far. Suffice it to say it's come to the point of ridiculous between the rich, poor and what remains of the middle class. We can either standby and watch the few accumulate ALL the marbles or somewhat level the playing field. My point of view is no human is so valuable they deserve 100,000's the worth then those who labor under them. There's no justification this. It's flat out capitalism allowed to run amuck.

Who Is Gonna Fix This?
Don't think for a second it'll come from a change of heart by those at the top of the food chain. They'll keep feeding guilt on those below them on which to feast that somehow they are being envious, greedy, unpatriotic or even socialists for questioning why they deserve part of what these fat cats feel entitled to. I'm not encouraging rebellion nor anger. All I'm simply asking is people get out and vote for people like Bernie Sanders and others this November. Candidates who see through this facade and will make the changes necessary before we all end up living in tents working 60 hours a week. (That's not an exaggeration for many).

George Carlin Explains Political Language

Here are valuable tips for the unseasoned candidates on addressing almost every situation they'll encounter if they manage getting elected,

George Carlin- National Press Club (May 13, 1999)

The man ought to be posthumously elected to congress.
He'd probably accomplish as much as those already seated.

The Oval Office How It Really Works In My Opinion

It must be a pain in the butt for lifers every time they get a new boss. I imagine it's the same with the permanent staffers in Washington and at the White House. Think of it this way in terms of the place where you work. To some degree you try to appease but most of the things you do stay pretty much the same. The things you've tried over and again which failed you aren't likely to repeat despite advice from the new greenhorn in the front office. Just appease them and hope they'll be distracted moving on to something else. Who hasn't dealt with new management in this way?

Countless new hot shots are appointed by every president who have no idea what's going on. Most rely on those below their charge who been around the block for years. What new appointees say and do in public may have little to do with the actual workings within the government department they were selected to lead. I can guarantee you our plant manager had little idea what was going on other then what our supervisors wanted them to know unless they were willing to check things out for themselves with us. Some of our previous bosses were interested in what we had to say listening to some of the past things we tried and managed accordingly. Others acted liked fools. Think government is any different?

This is why I sincerely hope 90% of what we hear coming out of Washington, Trump's mouth and other world leaders have little to do with what is really going on. Tons of people working in the background with other nations have been canoodling with each other for decades. They've reached an untold number of understandings where things stand. Think of it this way. These BS politicians at the top come and go in every country. The bedrock of everything that keeps things running smooth are the grunts doing what is best behind the scenes between their countries and ours by knowing what's really going on.

Shhh-- don't tell Trump
Trade Commission Nullifies Trump’s Newspaper Tariff

FBI repudiates President Trump's unsubstantiated claim that China hacked Hillary Clinton's emails

Let him continue to BS and say whatever he wants. It makes him happy (not). Meanwhile let us hope the real deals are being cut by those adults who have greater knowledge and expertise in such matters unseen.

Let me put this yet one other way
No person, company nor country could became successful w/o those countless people whose efforts helped make them that way. It doesn't matter who ends up getting the credit. It always takes those who efforts are seldom recognized. To them go my appreciation and so should all of ours.

Nearly Everybody Is FOS

Religions are FOS
Politicians are FOS
Businesses are FOS
Product promises are FOS
Most so called non-partisan judges are FOS
etc, etc, etc.

WORDS OF WISDOM
When people begin to realize 99% of what they experience in this world is FOS they will come to realize only a tiny fraction is based in truth. Nearly every living thing has an agenda of it's own. This is what creates the conflict between all living things.

The trick is to observe without allowing ourselves to be affected by their influences. To stay uninvolved. We've been incorrectly taught to become engaged in whatever cause. This only leads to conflict. There can be no conflict if there is no engagement. Apathy (indifference) never generates conflict. Somehow we've been falsely led to believe this was a negative. Truth is any amplification for either cause leads to greater turmoil because of increased differences.

If we can get through this life unaffected the better our chances are we will leave it as we arrived when we were born.

LVIA Sure Knows How To Spend Money

Lehigh Valley Live-- The Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority and partners held a groundbreaking Aug. 21, 2018.

$16.3M hangar being built at Lehigh Valley International Airport

I checked out the website for the PennDOT Bureau of Aviation. According to them "Federal Block Grant funding is generated through federal taxes collected nationally on airline tickets, freight waybills, international departure fees, and sale of avgas and jet fuel... Congress appropriates funds for the Airport Improvement Program (AIP) each year, and Pennsylvania receives a percentage of the total authorization based on area/population."

This doesn't explain where the other $10 million is coming from. I haven't looked into all the details but I sincerely hope these fat cats have to pay some really hefty fees and rents considering how long it will take to pay down this $16.3 million investment. Anyone want to hazard a guess where some of the other $10.3 million will come from?

One Day All The Stars Will Disappear

Forbes
The Universe Is Disappearing, And There's Nothing We Can Do To Stop It
"..the farther away a galaxy was from us, the faster it appears to recede.... as time goes on, individual galaxies will appear to recede away from us faster and faster. In time, they'll become unreachable, even if we journeyed towards them at the speed of light... "

Which brings me to the theory I've always held about the universe being only 13.8 billion light years old. Could it just be trillions of other stars lie beyond. Ones which sped up to such a speed light from them wouldn't be able to reach us?

We measure how fast light can travel in time. Therein lies the problem--- "TIME". What is it? Can anything exist beyond our present understandings of TIME? Does TIME even exist holistically? If TIME is limited to a measurement between events we observe can THINGS exist beyond those we can not?

Yeah, then there's that :-)

300 Pennsylvania Catholic Priests Sexually Abused Over 1,000 children

VOX: 300 Pennsylvania Catholic priests sexually abused over 1,000 children

Yeah, But....
According to Wikipedia--"From 2001 to 2010 the Holy See, the central governing body of the Catholic Church, considered sex abuse allegations involving about 3,000 priests dating back fifty years." Yet as of February 2018 only 24 "Catholic priests were convicted of child sexual abuse."

In my opinion the church could never have covered this up without government prosecutors' and investigators' cooperation. I'd bet more then a few prosecutors avoided these pervert priests because they were deathly afraid of losing a bunch of catholic votes. Hence I feel the blame falls equally both on the church and government's role in the cover-up.

Isn't it amazing how prosecutors have always gone after teachers compared to priests?

I'm reading at WFMZ how the grand jury made recommendations but amazingly not a single indictment was made. Imagine sitting on the grand jury for months listening to the heartbreaking stories only to learn not a single charge would come from the time they were forced to spend. It's been said grand juries could hand down an indictment even against a cheeseburger.

In my opinion at the end of the day the only thing this report does is confirm how miserably the system failed and continues to do so. This because of it's continued failure to bring a single charge against those accused. Instead dropped a bunch of recommendations on reluctant legislators who won't want to lose voters if they go after the church either. Let's just call this what it is. Another example of government patronizing gullible voters into believing everything is going to change without actually changing a damn thing. There sure are a hellva lot of accusations and finger pointing but where's the punishments.

Is The World We Know An Illusion?

Yeah I'm thinking too much again!Would all so-called realities exist if a single awareness didn't observe and/or acknowledge their existence?

When this single entity became aware how did it happen to him/her/it in the first place?

Genesis 1:27
So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.

Could this single awareness be nothing more then reflections of itself appearing to have billions of individual consciousnesses as a result of it's own self generated images of many realities seeking answers for it's existence?

Somehow it seems the creator is as perplexed and helpless as the rest of us. No matter how many individual consciousnesses he/she/it creates through untold numbers of realities it still doesn't explain the fundamental question-- what's going on here?

It seems quantum physics helps explain this dilemma. Every time a phenomena is observed another is created. Thus creation will be forever chasing his/her/it's own tail for the eye cannot see itself.

So I suppose the answer is enjoy the ride while it last. If the hour comes awareness no longer exist- for either our creator nor individuals- all will be as it is/was. Whatever the hell it is (or isn't)

So if we experience a after life or all things come to naught none of this means a damn thing in the end does it?

Have a good day :-)

Speech That Made Obama President

Senator Barack Obama at the 2004 Democratic National Convention

One can argue whether Obama's administration took us to the promise land or not. However without argument Barack tried very hard to unite the people. In no way could one see any divisiveness in his words. Above all else any president's most important job is to UNITE the United States as much as humanly possible amongst it's people. By doing so displaying to the world we are as of one voice. At the same time inspiring others to put down their animosities and become the best we all can be not just here in this country.

My Favorite Music Videos (Updated 08/11/2018)

I've updated my favorite YouTube music videos. Currently there are 2,430 videos in my various playlists. I've been accumulating these since June 2007. Most are amateur musical performers. Of all the sites I visit on the internet these performers capture my greatest interest. It's my hope you'll enjoy them as much as I do.

Here's a sample of one of the latest I've just added.

Dylan Vidovich- "Cold As Ice"

Truth About Alcoholism

Before I was born my dad use to be a weightlifter and swim instructor. Before he met my mother he palled around with a few celebrities like Johnny Weissmuller out in California for a time. A Pennsylvania state senator and one or two notable military members. After he met my mother (his 3rd wife) they settled down and ran a successful bakery on Front street near the Tilghman street bridge. It was during this time he also hosted a health food program on WSAN when it was on N. 10th street. Eventually he became friends with many of Allentown's movers and shakers. He was the first to fly with a pilot of a biplane into New York bringing back a package of meat making it one of the first cargo flights ever into the old Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton airport (ABE). This led him to become quite popular even hosting parties at the house he and my mom built entirely with their own hands with dozens of local notables.

Eventually he became the life of the party setting up all the drinks at the various clubs once occupying our lower wards. Like many before he was living life too large and began sneaking money behind my mom's back at the bakery. Before she knew it he ran the business into the ground. Causing him to drink more. As is the case with many fair weather friends they began drifting off elsewhere.

Eventually he wound up in the Allentown Hospital on Hanover Avenue where they gave him shock treatments for his alcoholism. That's how they done things in those days. I remember when I was about 8 years old my mom ( who didn't drive) took me by bus and trolley every other week to visit him. I remember little. What I do remember is waiting in the mostly bare marble lobby for him to appear where mom & I would picnic with him for an hour or so on the front lawn. Then leave for home. After a few months when he got out he had no way of earning the kind living he once did. So he became a janitor acquiring about 15 accounts Mostly from the business leaders he once hobnobbed with.

Things went fairly well for about six of seven years until he started drinking again behind our backs. Eventually not being able to afford the home we once lived. He then became more and more physically aggressive until my mom decided to take my brother and I away to live at my grandmother's house. Three years later estranged from us and being unable to send support money he died of a heart attack Do I have regrets? Yes. I imagine he did too. Out of his other kids (some of them unknown to us at the time of his death) from previous marriages only one of his daughters arranged and attended his funeral.

Now that I'm older even after abusing us I would have done things differently. I was too young at the time to understand the man was suffering too. Back then I was resentful he threw away his life and ours over what could have been because of the bottle. We once were one of well known families. When he died we still were, but not for the reasons any of us would have liked.

HERE'S THE TAKEAWAY

If someone has a drinking problem get it fixed before it's too late. You never know when life will end. For him he was only 66. His disease not only hurt him but many others around him. That is one hellva burden he carried to his grave. I'm 100% convinced he suffered far more then I realized at the time.

The resentment I once felt has now turned to regret. The regret I wasn't old enough to be able to understand how much I could have helped if I only knew then what I know now about his alcoholism.

I should remember more then what the bottle stole from him. Times he left little doodles for us before he left for work in the morning. Teaching us to swim. Buying and paying my organ lessons. Trips to Dorney, Brooklyn, Coney Island (although he refused to take my mom on any of them). The tire swing, zipline, coaster and fort he built in the backyard. Introducing me to radio and quarter midget racing via Dopey Duncan. Paying for camp.

If you've got a drinking problem I recommend you take a look around at what it's doing to others if not yourself. Is this really the legacy you want to leave behind? Is this what you envisioned life to be for yourself? Don't gamble there will be another tomorrow. Do something now before it's too damn late.

Edward R. Murrow's Response To Attack On The Media

Today's news media is experiencing numerous attacks on it's creditability accusing it of being "fake news". Mostly by Trump who declared the press enemy of the people" in his tweets. This should sound familiar since it's not the first time. Edward R. Murrow was known for his relentless reporting on Sentor McCarthy. Thus accused also as being an enemy of this country.

Both Murray and the United States somehow managed to see their way through the Sentor's false accusations. Let us hope one day we shall as well this administration's false accusations with it's attacks on the press.

Edward R. Murrow's final reply to Senator Joseph McCarthy on CBS

This is what it looks like when media does it's job.

Robin Williams In His Iconic Role As Patch Adams

This 1998 film was based on the real life of Patch Adams. Wikipedia: "Hunter Doherty "Patch" Adams (born May 28, 1945) is an American physician, comedian, social activist, clown, and author. He founded the Gesundheit! Institute in 1971... After being hospitalized three times in one year for wanting to end his life, he decided "you don't kill yourself, stupid; you make revolution."

In my opinion not all are born great. They become great over the years by both their words and deeds. Yet another human being who is a true inspiration and example of greatness seldom found in this world.

Genius Of The Constitution

Here's a clip from the 1994 film "With Honors". The writers gave us food for thought which can be equally pondered in our present times.

In this and in upcoming posts (like many in the past) I'm posting embedded videos. The reason is because these videos (along with their writers) have much greater abilities to say things I could ever hope to with my words. I would fall far short of them trying to express myself.

Carl Sagan- Ties That Bind Us All

This is my 3rd post in a series accentuating the positive. I decided to do these because all too many times we are only hearing from low IQ people spreading negativity rather then from minds of greatness. In this particular message Carl attempts to explain why it's imperative humans understand their relationships with one another. Failing to do otherwise could quite possibility result in our extinction.

"Carl Sagan gives the best speech ever about humanity and how foolish we behave. Pale Blue Dot is one of the most important and reflective speeches about the human condition and our place in the Universe. The Pale Blue Dot is a photograph of Earth taken in 1990 by the Voyager 1 space probe from a record distance of about 6 billion kilometers from Earth, as part of the solar system Family Portrait series of images."

FOX News Fact Checked By A REAL Journalist

I believe FOX News could be a quality network representing conservative values if they got rid of screwballs like Sean, Tucker, so-called Judge Pirro, Doocy, Watters, Levine, Hemmer. Also a large number of knuckleheaded BS artists who appear on their programs. Guests like Gingrich, So-called Gov. Huckabee, Lahren, Gorka, Rove to name a few. FOX Business-- forget about them altogether. The whole staff is a waste of time. 90% of the airtime is spent on anything but business news.

I actually enjoy listening to the conservative views expressed by Baier, Cavuto, Faulkner, Perino, Shep, Wallace, Williams, Napolitano, Roberts, Rivera and quite a number of others. I think they play an important part in the news arena. BUT those other screwballs belong on a street corner shouting into a megaphone instead of a major network like FOX. It may generate revenue but it makes FOX News look like they don't care how much damage they are doing to the country as long as they make a buck They really do need to clean house.
