Lockheed During WW II

During World War II the Army Corps of Engineers needed
to hide the Lockheed Burbank Aircraft Plant to protect it
from a possible Japanese air attack.

They covered it with camouflage netting to make
it look like a rural subdivision from the air.

  1. great images. I remember going to elementary school during the beginning of the cold war and practicing hiding under the desk in case of a nuclear attack (that would have helped!). supposedly Bethlehem Steel was a prime target for the Russians at that time.

  2. Kind of looks like the Pennsylvania budget.

The next question is whether we won WW II in a shorter time than it takes our state govenment to approve a budget.
