How Do Animals See In The Dark?

What I Got Out Of The 'TED-Ed' VideoBeing somewhat uneducated I always wondered why my cat looks at me wondering why I keep kicking him in the middle of the night on my way to go piddle. It would sure be nice to have a set of reflectors in the back of my eyes like owls and cats. This would have saved me a hellva' lot of stubbed toes for sure. Probably wouldn't need to spend all this money for electric lighting either.
