WRONG again Donald
The truth is this problem is never going to be solved by walls, policing or finger pointing. We have to face facts the real problem with drugs is us. If there weren't a demand for illicit drugs the problem wouldn't exist. As long as there' a huge demand suppliers will always find a way to enrich themselves off of it.
If this problem is ever to go away we first have to acknowledge no politician nor any amount of enforcement is going to resolve this I don't care how many people get locked up.
It starts with education. The young should be shown videos and visit hardcore addicts without sugar coating it no matter the risk of traumatizing them. Secondly those addicted aren't going to be turned around by simply locking them up. Those jailed should receive intense bold therapy. Third-- we need to dry up the supply much as humanly possible. Doctors who over prescribe and pharmacies need to be held accountable both financially and in some cases face jail time. Drug manufactures seeing usually large orders should also be held accountable.
Maybe utilize something like a Megan's Law where upon prior users are released and constantly monitored with home and car searches as well as repeated drug testing. If found readmitted to intense bold therapy through confinement. Not jailed--confined.
Donald the other day declared a "health emergency" not a "national emergency". Which means no additional funding for these kind of things. Which means we're not taking this serious enough.
I may not have all the right answers but walls, lockups and property seizures have been tried since the 60's and it's not working. In fact gotten worse. If we spent as much on these ideas as Donald wants to spend on that wall ($10B-$20B) perhaps it would be more usefully spent trying to eliminate the demand in the first place.
