The Colin Kaepernick Controversy

"One executive referred to Kaepernick as a "traitor" while speaking about his recent actions. "I don't want him anywhere near my team," he said. "He's a traitor." A different front office employee told Freeman that he would seriously consider resigning from his position if the owner of his team asked him to sign Kaepernick, while another chimed in with a strong opinion on Kaepernick's decision not to stand for the national anthem. "He has no respect for our country," the executive said. "F*ck that guy."

"I literally had no choice but to stand with him ― not because he’s biracial, not because he’s a 49er, which I’m a fan, but as a Veteran who got tired of people using us as a political vehicle when he had every right to do so.."

  1. That's a good insight on this story. Patriotism can be blinding.
