Nov. 2012 The Way I See It

The entire GOP field is weak. About the only way I see Republicans winning is to get Gov. Chris Christie on the ticket. The only way to do that is to run him as a Vice Presidential candidate. Christie has been schmoozing on the campaign trail, so I think he's likely to accept a Vice Presidency.

Christie didn't run for President because I think that he didn't want to risk blowing it running against Obama. Why should he when Christie can set himself up for a run in 2016? This is when Obama is no longer a factor. Besides I'd be damned sure Biden isn't going to run. Who knows how weak or inexperienced a candidate the Democrats may have in 2016 to run against Christie. Christie could use his experience as Vice President to make a case.

The question is which one of the candidates?

The natural selection would be Mitt Romney. Romney is acquiescent. I mean by that, much like Geo. W Bush was influenced by Dick Cheney. Cheney ran most of the Oval office behind the scenes. Geo. W. was the front man. Such would be the case with Christie being the vice president and having Romney the front man in the oval office.

It has to be Romney, because Newt's too thick headed to take orders from anybody. He's also an unpredictable a loose cannon.

You can say what you want about Santorum, but he never wavers from his views and will not allow his views to be influenced by Christie's. An unlikely team.

The same goes for Ron Paul. Their views are too far apart. Neither Ron Paul, Newt or Santorum would likely to agree with Christie being their running mate unless they were forced.

Romney would take anyone the Republicans assigned to him. So that's how I see the Republican ticket lining up for fall. Romney for Prez and Christie his Vice Presidential candidate.

  1. Yes, but the risk Christie would have being on the ticket with Romney is that it is a true train wreck, and he cannot carry his home state of NJ. And while he may win reelection as Gov. of NJ, a Presidential election is a much different beast. Christie is much better off sitting this one out.
